An Indian passenger en route to Singapore who attempted to smuggle more than Rs.5 million worth of foreign currency was taken into custody by the Airport customs last night.

A stock of American and Singapore dollars, Euro, and Swiss Frank were recovered in the investigation.

Police said the suspect had the foreign currency hidden in his person and in his baggage.
