Hikkaduwa UC Chairman remanded

The Chairman of the Hikkaduwa Urban Council (UC) Winnie Kariyawasam was remanded by the Colombo Chief Magistrate Rashmi Singappuli today on suspicion for threatening a member of the UC with death as he made a complaint to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption on an alleged irregularity that resulted in a loss of more than Rs.600, 000 to the UC.
