Five injured as lightning strikes

Five people, including four women were injured when lightning struck them in Matale this evening. Some of the victims had been plucking tea leaves when a bolt of lightning struck a mobile phone in the pocket of a man nearby. The bolt had then gone on to hit the others.
The injured were admitted to the Matale hospital for treatment. (YP)
