Death toll rises to 12

The death toll in the gale that hit the southern coastal belt has risen to 12 including eight fishermen, and four others who died due to falling trees and other objects. Five fishing boats have been destroyed and 12 others are reported missing. (Krishan Jeewaka and D.G.Sugathapala)
