Colombo voters to get longest ballot paper

The longest ballot paper which exceeds two-feet will be issued for the Colombo Municipal Council at the upcoming local government elections on October 8.

An Elections Department spokesman said it would exceed two feet even without the names of candidates as 19 groups including nine political parties and ten independent groups were contesting the council this time.

He also said there were difficulties in attaching the list of candidates contesting the council with the poll cards that are being delivered to the voters. (Yohan Perera)
