Child smuggler arrested

A suspect who is said to be involved in a child smuggling racket to Australia was arrested by the Mundalama Police today.

The National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) had received a tip off to the effect that the suspect was involved in smuggling children to Australia through the coast.

Following submissions by the NCPA to the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court, the Magistrate ordered the arrest of the suspect.
