Army Chief gets one year extension

Army Commander Daya Ratnayake has been granted a one year extension in office till February 22, 2015, Defence sources said.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa as the Commander-in-chief had given the extension. Lieutenant General Ratnayake was appointed as the Commander of the Army on August 1, 2013.
