Water usage increases by 15%; use sparingly: Water Board

Colombo, March 16 (Daily Mirror) - Due to the current dry weather, the usage of water has increased by 15%, and the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWS&DB) requests that consumers use water sparingly, NWS&DB Deputy General Manager Anuja Kaluarachchi said. 

She told the media that water is currently being released from six water supply systems in Hatton, Gampalawatta, Urubokka, Pussellawa, Pussella and Kotagala for the requirements of the consumers.

Meanwhile, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said that three thousand families in Kegalle and Kurunegala are facing drinking water problems.
