Vikum Kaluarachchi sworn in as Court of Appeal judge

Justice Vikum Athula Kaluarachchi was sworn in as a Court of Appeal judge before President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat this morning (24), President’s Media Division (PMD) said.

This appointment was made to fill the post left vacant following the retirement of the Court of Appeal Judge Devika Abeyratne. An alumnus of Royal College, Colombo, Justice Kaluarachchi graduated from the Colombo Law College and entered the legal profession.

Justice Kaluarachchi has served as a Magistrate, a District Judge, a Judge of the Criminal High Court and the Civil Appellate Court for 27 years out of his 33 years of service.

He was also the most Senior Judge of the High Court.
