Vesak dansal guidelines now available on Epidemiology website

Colombo, May 28 (Daily Mirror) - The guidelines for organizing Vesak Dansals are now available on the Epidemiology Division website (www.epid.gov.lk), the Health and Mass Media Ministry said.

Community Medicine Specialist at the Epidemiology Division, Thilanga Ruwan Pathirana, said that individuals planning to conduct Dansals must register with the Medical Officer of Health in their respective areas before proceeding.

He urged organizers to consult the area Medical Officer of Health or Public Health Inspector to obtain necessary advice prior to registration.

Pathirana further requested Dansal organizers to prioritize the distribution of hot beverages such as tea, coffee, ranawara, and coriander, instead of cold drinks, in view of the spread of certain infectious diseases.

He added that Public Health Inspectors will supervise Dansal activities during preparation, conduct, and after completion to ensure compliance with health guidelines.
