Venerable Udaeriyagama Dhammajiva Thero honoured at National Piriven Day ceremony

Colombo, June 23 (Daily Mirror) - Venerable Udaeriyagama Dhammajiva Maha Thero, the founder of Sati Pasala and Universal Mindful Village, and the Chief Incumbent of Nissarana Vanaya Meethirigala Forest Monastery, was felicitated during the recent National Piriven Day ceremony held at Temple Trees, the official residence of the Prime Minister.

The event recognised Venerable Dhammajiva Thero’s outstanding contributions to the advancement of Sri Lanka’s Piriven education system. Notably, the Thero has pioneered the integration of mindfulness practices into traditional Buddhist Piriven education through the Mindfulness Meditation and Leadership Training Program for Attitudes and Values Development, a widely acclaimed initiative that continues to shape both conventional and modern educational practices in the country.

The special tribute was presented by Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya during the official ceremony, underscoring the national significance of the Thero’s educational and spiritual leadership.
