Upcountry train service disrupted due to landslide

Train services have been disrupted due to a landslide between Ohia and Idalgasinna railway stations, caused by the current weather conditions.

The Ministry of Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation said that the Railway Department has deployed staff to clear the debris, and efforts are underway to restore normal train operations as quickly as possible.

As a result, the night mail train from Colombo Fort to Badulla and the scheduled train from Badulla to Colombo Fort will be delayed until the affected railway line is cleared.
