The U.S. Embassy in India has announced that, effective immediately, all individuals applying for F, M, or J nonimmigrant visas must set their social media accounts to public as part of the vetting process required under U.S. immigration law.

This new directive applies to international students (F and M visas) and exchange visitors (J visas) and is intended to assist U.S. authorities in verifying applicants' identities and admissibility.
