UN Chief to discuss Human Rights issues, impact of economic crisis: United Nations

Colombo, June 23 (Daily Mirror) - The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk will meet government, religious leaders, victims, civil society, UN representatives and diplomats during his visit in Sri Lanka.

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights said he will discuss a wide range of human rights issues, including accountability, reconciliation efforts and the impact of the economic crisis.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk arrived in Sri Lanka this afternoon for a four-day official visit.
