Two arrested for defrauding money to sell iPhones & iPads

Two suspects have been arrested by the Kollupitiya Police over defrauding money to sell iPhones and iPads.

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said more than 70 complaints have been received claiming that they had paid money to purchase iPhones and iPads from a shop named 'InstaBuy' on Galle Road in Kollupitiya.

However, the complainants said they have not received their ordered items.

During the investigation it was revealed that the suspects haven’t had any connection with the Apple Inc. or any other agent who deal with such products.

The police spokesman said the suspects had intentionally cheated the customers.

The suspects aged 27 and 29 and were residents of Modara and Moratuwa.(Darshana Sajeewa Balasuriya)
