Train services cancelled and rescheduled due to coastal line maintenance

Several train services have been cancelled and rescheduled today ( 23) and tomorrow (24) owing to essential maintenance work on the Coastal Railway Line, the General Manager of Railways, Ravindra Pathmapriya said.

Accordingly, train operations between Dodanduwa and Boossa will be affected.

Train Cancellations – August 24, 2025:

• Train No. 8319 scheduled to depart Galle at 5:15 a.m. to Colombo Fort.
• Train No. 8788 scheduled to depart Maradana at 12:10 p.m. to Galle.

Revised Train Schedules – August 24, 2025:

• Train No. 8327 Samudra Devi, originally scheduled to leave Galle at 5:00 a.m., will be delayed by about one hour and will now depart at 6:30 a.m.
• Train No. 8320, scheduled to leave Galle at 4:10 a.m. to Colombo Fort, will instead depart at 8:50 a.m.

Additional Change – August 23, 2025:

• The night mail train departing Colombo Fort at 7:30 p.m. to Galle will operate only up to Hikkaduwa.
