Stealing money from PM’s account proves escalation of thefts, frauds in SL :Vijitha

Stealing money from Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s account clearly show the escalation of thefts, frauds and corruption in the country, JVP MP Vijitha Herath said today.

He said they had so much of money in their accounts which they are unable to keep track of.

"Millions of rupees of money lying in the Prime Minister's account when he was the President, had been robbed by one of his close associates. He has not checked his account all that time," he said.

Addressing a press conference, he said giving Rs.5,000 allowance to state employees by printing money would only aggravate the crisis. "These are ignorant decisions of the Finance Minister. This will only worsen the crisis," he said. (Ajith Siriwardana)
