Station Masters to refrain from duties from tonight

Colombo, March 31 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lanka Railways Station Masters' Union (SLRSMU) has decided to refrain from all duties at sub-train stations in the Colombo region starting tonight.

A letter regarding this decision was sent yesterday (30th) to the Railways General Manager.

According to the letter, the strike action is being launched in protest against the deployment of Station Masters at sub-stations who were engaged in relief work in the Colombo Division, effective from tonight (31st).

The SLRSMU also cited the failure to promptly address issues faced by the Station Masters and the lack of immediate action in recruiting personnel for existing vacancies as reasons for the strike.
