Woman injured in Wellawa shooting incident

Colombo, June 23 (Daily Mirror) - A woman was injured following a shooting incident in the Wellawa area of Kurunegala early this morning (23).

According to the police, the shooting took place at around 6:45 AM. The victim, who sustained severe injuries in the attack, was rushed to the Kurunegala Hospital, where she is currently receiving emergency medical treatment.

Preliminary police investigations have revealed that the shooting was carried out by an individual known to have had a close personal relationship with the woman. Further investigations are underway to arrest the suspect.
