Special police contingent deployed for Sanath Nishantha’s funeral

A special police contingent of 380 personnel has been deployed to provide ptotection during Late State Minister Sanath Nishantha Perera’s final rights.

A senior police official said a large crowd including several ministers, parliamentarians and VIPs were expected to attend the funeral and that steps have been taken to enhance security in the area.

He said the police contingent comprised officers from police stations in the North Western Province.
