Smoking could fetch death to children during COVID season: Paediatrician

Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children (LRH) Consultant Paediatrician Dr. Deepal Perera yesterday requested the parents to stop smoking as it causes the death of children if they are infected with corona virus.

He told the Daily Mirror that passive smoking could damage the lungs of children and it might cause silent hypoxia and wheezing.

Therefore, it is necessary to take immediate action against smoking as it directly affects the health of children during the COVID season. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
