Schoolgirl succumbs to COVID-19

A grade six student from Dhammissara National school in Nattandiya  died while being treated for COVID-19 at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Marawila Base Hospital, a hospital spokesman said.

The deceased was from Thabbowa area.

She was rushed to the ICU of the hospital on Friday (28) due to a sudden illness where she  died while being treated.

A test carried out on her confirmed that she was infected with the dreaded COVID virus
