School bus driver arrested for drunk driving with children onboard

Colombo, May 20 (Daily Mirror) - The Katupotha Police arrested the driver of a ‘Sisuseriya’ school bus for driving under the influence of alcohol while transporting a group of children.

Police said the 52-year-old driver, a resident of Katupotha was arrested during an inspection conducted by the Katupotha Police to detect traffic violations. 

They said that 16 schoolchildren and two mothers were on the bus at the time of the arrest.

The driver will be produced before the Narammala Magistrate’s Court today.
