Scheduled power cuts could differ; based on fuel dependency: PUCSL

As the government assured to minimize power cuts from today, the scheduled power cuts may not take place or reduced depending on the availability of fuel, the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) Chairman Janaka Ratnaka Rathnayaka said.

On March 2, the officials of the Ministries of Power and Energy assured the President that there would be no power cuts from March 5.

Later, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa instructed all responsible parties to take actions to ensure uninterrupted power supply, at a special discussion held at the Presidential Secretariat on March 2 on the existing power cuts and the fuel issue. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
