STF nabs robber gang stealing mobile vendors’ mobikes posing as cops

The Special Task Force of Police (STF) have uncovered a gang which was engaged in modus operandi to steal motorcycles of those engage in mobile delivery posing as policemen during the curfew period.

The STF arrested a suspect in Kadawatha following a complaint lodged at the Kadawatha Police Station over the theft of a motorcycle by a gang claiming  to be policemen.  

Further investigations revealed that several motorcycles had been stolen in the area in the past few days by suspects posing themselves as policemen.  

The 42-year-old suspect, a resident of Ganemulla was handed over to the Kadawatha Police Station for further investigations.(DSB)
