SAITM to be run as Private Public Partnership: Kiriella

Highways and Higher Education Minister Lakshman Kiriella yesterday said seven out of eight Medical Faculty Deans, had agreed with him for a Private Public Partnership (PPP) to run the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) in Malabe.

The Minister told the Daily Mirror that a discussion was held in this regard on Thursday and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe also attended the meeting.

Minister Kiriella said a model would be worked out for such partnerships to attract private sector investment in the Higher Education Sector in Sri Lanka. (Lahiru Pothmulla)
