Rs. 5,000 allowance until teachers, principals salary proposal included in budget

It was reported that the Finance Minister had agreed to pay an allowance of Rs. 5,000 for two months for teachers and principals as relief until their salary anomalies are sorted out.

It was reported that the decision was taken until the Cabinet accepts the report submitted by the Ministerial Sub Committee appointed to look into the salary anomalies of the Teachers and Principals. 

Therefore, the cabinet minister has decided to request the teachers to resume their online teaching activities. 

Teachers withdrew from online teaching to demand the elimination of salary anomalies, and the President appointed a four-member committee to look into the issue of teacher-principal issues. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
