Reports on Mahinda resigning as PM false: PM’s Office

The Prime Minister’s Office today denied media reports that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa is to resign from his position.

A statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office said there was no truth in the reports published on some mainstream media and social media, claiming that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa was to resign from his position.

Prime Minister's Media Secretary Rohan Weliwita said they strongly reject such false reports which were intended to mislead the public.
