Proposal to include wildlife, wildlife conservation in school syllabi: Minister

A cabinet proposal had been made to include  Wildlife and wildlife conservation as a subject in the school syllabus, Wild Life Minister C.B. Rathnayake said.

He told the Daily Mirror that the discussions regarding the above matter will take place at this week's cabinet meeting.

Also said that it is relevant to insert the information and proper knowledge on wildlife and wildlife conservation from the school ages.

He said construction of training centres are underway at Giritale and Inamaluwa Wildlife Training Centers facilitating the people to obtain the degree level certificates. 

"After absorbing the subjects in school syllabus, students can proceed with their higher education in order to obtain degrees," the Minister added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
