Programme to vaccinate 60+ who are not vaccinated

The Home Affairs Ministry advised all Divisional and District Secretaries to arrange a programme to find people over 60 years of age who have not received any of the COVID-19 vaccine doses.

The Ministry Secretary, N.H.M. Chithrananda said in a letter to list out those and complete the vaccination programme by August 24. He also advised to seek help from the health authorities and the Sri Lanka Army to execute the programme.

He also told the officials to prepare a list of people over 60 years old from the respective Grama Niladharies and send it to '[email protected]' or fax it to  011-2369832.

The ministry also contemplating to give Rs.2,000 for the families those who had lost their livelihoods during the islandwide lockdown period. 

Hence, the Divisional and District Secretaries have been advised to gather the data of the respective persons and submit that to the ministry. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
