Prisons Chief to get half salary during suspension

Colombo, June 11 (Daily Mirror) - The Cabinet has approved the payment of 50% of the salary of Commissioner General of Prisons Thushara Upuldeniya, who is currently under remand custody, for the duration of his suspension.

Cabinet Spokesman Minister Nalinda Jayatissa announced the decision at the weekly media briefing to announce Cabinet decisions.

Meanwhile, H.M.N.C. Dhanasinghe, Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Justice and National Integration, has been appointed as the Acting Commissioner General of Prisons. 
He will serve in this role in addition to his existing duties.
