Colombo, June 06 (Daily Mirror): A Gazette notification has been issued by the Government to establish the Chartered Institute of Media Professionals as a statutory corporate body.
According to the draft bill published in the Extraordinary Gazette dated June 5, the proposed institute is intended to introduce, promote, and maintain professional standards among media practitioners in Sri Lanka.
The legislation seeks to provide a formal framework for the development of the media profession and the enhancement of professional competence, ethics, and accountability within the industry.
