Poultry farm fire kills over 8,000 chicken at Kotadeniyawa

Some 8,209 chicken were killed following a fire which broke out at a poultry farm in Waradala, Kotadeniyawa this morning, the Police said.

They said the fire broke out around 9.15 am this morning and the cause is yet to be ascertained.

However, the fire was completely doused by the Negombo Fire Brigade. No injuries caused to people.

Further investigations are being carried out by the police. (Sheain Fernandopulle)
