Colombo, Nov. 18 (Daily Mirror - Mirror Sports) - The Pakistan T20I Tri-Series 2025 gets underway in Rawalpindi today, with hosts Pakistan facing Zimbabwe in the opening match of the three-team event. Sri Lanka are the third side in the week-long tournament, which serves as key preparation ahead of the Men’s T20 World Cup, now just two and a half months away.
For Sri Lanka, batting star Pathum Nissanka enters the series just 65 runs short of surpassing Kusal Perera as the nation’s all-time leading T20I run-scorer.
All seven fixtures — including the final on November 29 — will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The schedule includes Pakistan–Zimbabwe clashes on November 18 and 23, Sri Lanka–Zimbabwe matches on November 20 and 25, and Pakistan–Sri Lanka encounters on November 22 and 27.
Pakistan are led by captain Salman Ali Agha, with a squad featuring Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah and Fakhar Zaman.
Sri Lanka arrive with an experienced core under Dasun Shanaka, supported by Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Kusal Perera and the spin duo of Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana.
Zimbabwe, captained by Sikandar Raza, bring a mix of youth and experience featuring Richard Ngarava, Dion Myers, Ryan Burl and returning veteran Brendan Taylor.
