Islandwide mosquito control drive set for June 08–10

Colombo, June 6 (Daily Mirror) - A special national mosquito control programme will be implemented on June 08, 09, and 10 across 72 Medical Officer of Health (MOH) areas in 14 districts, health authorities announced.

The campaign will focus on eliminating mosquito breeding sites and strengthening public awareness activities. Authorities have also warned that abandoned private and government lands have become major breeding grounds, contributing to the rapid spread of dengue.

Police and divisional secretaries will support inspection and cleanup operations as part of the intensified national response.
