No solution to rising CoL and dearth of essentials: JVP

No solution has been proposed in the budget to provide solutions to skyrocketing cost of living and scarcity of essential goods in the market, National People's Power (NPP) MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake said today.

Commenting on the budget, he said no funds have been allocated to compensate farmers in the event of yield decline due to organic farming.

He said the Government claimed that farmers would be compensated if the agricultural produce shows decline due to organic farming. 

"No fund has been alocated for this in the budget. The Finance Minister said no supplementary estimates would be presented outside the budget as well. It means that this assurance is a hoax," he said.(Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)
