No power shedding at night during the weekend, the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) Chairman Janaka Ratnayake said.
The decision was taken considering the fact that there would be low power consumption during the weekend and lengthy power cuts during the week.
However, power shedding during day time will be reduced to three hours only to areas that come under category A, B and C. Meanwhile, two and-a- half-hour power shedding will be affective to the other categories tomorrow (26).
No power shedding for Sunday (27) except for areas that come under category A, B and C for two-and-a- half hours during day time, the Chairman said.
The power cuts are not due to inability of generating power, which is mainly due to the absence of fosil fuel to run the generators, the Chairman added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
