No illegal arrest of intelligence officers at Millennium City: SF

There was no illegal arrest of intelligence officers at the Millennium City, Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka told Parliament today.

Army Intelleigence Unit was never engaged in long range operations and there was no need to bring in RPGs and claymore mines to Colombo. An officer was engaged in this illegal act,” he said.

“This incident was used to topple the then government,” he said.

Parliamentarian Fonseka recalled that he was the commanding officer of Jaffna during the time when the Millennium City incident took place.(Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwardana)
