NPP’s Kalpitiya PS chairman assaulted

Colombo, June 17 (Daily Mirror) - The National People's Power (NPP)'s Kalpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman and several others were assaulted when the vehicle he was travelling in was attacked at Viruthodai in Madurankuliya last night.

The newly elected NPP Kalpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Abdul Satthar Mohammad Rikkas came under attack while he was travelling towards Norochcholai from NPP Puttalama District MP Mohamed Faisal's residence.

The Chairman has lodged a complaint with the police and steps have been taken to deploy the STF in the area.
