’Meenagaya’ intercity express train attacked at Kekirawa station

The Meenagaya Intercity Express Train (6079) was pelted with stones at the Kekirawa Railway Station this morning, a railway senior official said.

They said the train was approaching the Kekirawa railway station, some unruly elements started hurling stones at the train.

Several windows of the train, including the windscreen, were shattered during the attack.

The train was on its way to Batticoloa from Colombo Fort this morning. The train left Fort at 7.15 pm yesterday. (Chaturanga Samarawickrma)
