Laugfs gas price exceeds Rs. 6,000

Colombo, May 7 (Daily Mirror) - Laugfs gas price exceeds Rs. 6,000 as domestic LPG prices were revised upwards with effect from last night (6), the company announced.

Laugfs Gas Lanka Company increased the price of a 12.5 kg domestic gas cylinder by Rs. 545, pushing the new retail price to Rs. 6,245. With this revision, the price of the commonly used cylinder has now crossed the Rs. 6,000 mark.

Meanwhile, the price of a 5 kg cylinder has also been increased by Rs. 220, with the new price set at Rs. 2,500.

The revised prices are applicable within the Colombo District, according to the company. The adjustment comes amid ongoing fluctuations in global energy markets and exchange rate pressures.
