Jayasuriya congratulates Nissanka on breaking his record

Feb 9 - Former national captain Sanath Jayasuriya was full of praise for opener Pathum Nissanka, who became the first Sri Lankan to score an ODI double century, 

"Congratulations to Pathum on a masterclass in batting. I am so so privileged to witness it in person pure bliss," Jayasuriya posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. 

Jayasuriya, who was recruited as a consultant coach in December last year, was present at the Pallekele stadium as Nissanka broke the former cricketer's 23-year record for the highest score by a Sri Lankan in ODI cricket.
