Israel agrees to Trump’s ceasefire proposal with Iran

Israel has agreed to U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal for a ceasefire with Iran, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement. This followed Trump’s announcement that the truce is now in effect and his call for both sides to refrain from violating it.

The announcements came after Iran launched several volleys of missiles at Israel, killing at least four people in the southern city of Beersheba.

Earlier, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that there is no formal agreement on a ceasefire with Israel, but Tehran would halt its attacks if Israel ceased what it called “illegal aggression.”
