Interdicted Magistrate Hemapala arrives at CCD

Interdicted Magistrate Dhammika Hemapala arrived at the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) to give a statement in connection with the telephone conversation he had wit former State Minister Ranjan Ramanayake.

The Judicial Services Commission (JSC) interdicted Magistrate Hemapala last week, on complaint in connection with the controversial phone recordings of MP Ramanayake.

Earlier, Attorney General Dappula de Livera had instructed the CCD to record statements from the judges who had been involved in telephone conversations with MP Ramanayake. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
