A 51-year-old inmate was found dead hanging inside a cell at the Anuradhapura prisons yesterday.
Police said the prisoner who had been imprisoned over a murder succumbed after he was admitted to the Anuradhapura Hospital.
The post mortem examinations revealed that the death was a suicide.
The victim was identified as a resident of Maradankadawala.
