I do not want to get on the elephant although I support the President - Prasanna

Chief Government Whip Prasanna Ratnatunga today said he does not intend to leave the SLPP and join the UNP although he supports President Ranil Wickremesinghe at this moment. 

"My decision to support President Wickremesinghe is not a departure from the SLPP. I do not intend to get on top of the elephant's back although I have decided to support the President," he said making a special statement. 

Minister Ranatnga also participated in an SLPP rally in Puttalam in which Former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa also participated. (Yohan Perera)
