Health Minster leaves for Switzerland to attend WHO Assembly

Colombo, May 18 (Daily Mirror) - Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, departed for Switzerland this morning to participate in the 78th annual World Health Assembly (WHA78) of the World Health Organization (WHO).

The assembly will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, from 19 to 27 May, under the theme “One world for health.” 

Health Ministers from all WHO member countries are scheduled to attend, along with more than 5,000 government officials representing health sectors across the globe.

A series of wide-ranging discussions have been planned during the assembly, with proposals, opinions and research data to be presented and considered. 

The outcomes are expected to shape global health policies and strategies for the coming year.
