Harini receives death threats via email: Minister

Colombo, May 20 (Daily Mirror) - An investigation has already begun over a death threat on Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya via gmail, Minister of Public Security Ananda Wijepala told Parliament today. 

Minister Wijepala who responded to a question raised by Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said the death threats have been made by those who possess IP addresses originating from Germany and the Netherlands. 

He also said a probe has begun on a plot to assissinate IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon. He said a contract has already been given to one Saman Kumara, alias I.D.H. Sudda who is serving a prison sentence. 

Further, the Minister said a false information has been received on an alleged plot to launch a sniper attack on Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa. This he said has been proved to be a false claim.
