Colombo, June 17 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel confirmed that four Sri Lankans have been injured in the recent attacks on Israel amidst the ongoing conflict with Iran.
Sri Lankan Ambassador to Israel, Nimal Bandara, said that as of 5.00 a.m. today, the injured individuals are in stable condition and are expected to return to work in the coming days.
In addition, two other Sri Lankans were temporarily relocated from their residences, with their employer providing alternative accommodation. A staff member of the Sri Lankan Embassy also suffered property damage to her residence, though she was unharmed.
Updating on the situation, Ambassador Bandara stated that drone and missile attacks by Iran began yesterday afternoon and continued overnight.
He noted that while many missiles and drones were intercepted, several densely populated areas, including Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Jerusalem, came under attack.
The Embassy has since issued updated safety instructions and guidance for Sri Lankans residing in Israel considering the volatile security situation.
