Colombo, June 24 (Daily Mirror) - All SriLankan Airlines aircraft that were earlier diverted to alternate airports have now returned to the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) and resumed flight operations, Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) Chairman Sunil Jayaratne said.

He confirmed that both arriving and departing flights at BIA had returned to normal by 5 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the BIA Operations Committee, Mrs. Roshani Masakorala, said that about 80% of flight operations at Katunayake Airport are now functioning as usual.

However, she noted that Qatar Airways flights have not yet returned to normal. This delay, she explained, is due to the absence of some Qatar Airways staff and ground operations officers from Doha Airport, who have yet to report for duty as required.
